Summary: Bobby's car breaks down in the middle of the desert while he is trying to escape some bookies. He makes it to the closest town where everyone is very strange. And he is trapped there because he doesn't have the money to get his car back, so when an older man offers him money to kill his wife, he considers, but ends up getting involved with the wife, who tries to hire him to kill her husband and things get out of hand.Review:
Personally, I am a huge Oliver Stone fan. I liked this movie, despite noticable differences from his typical work. This desert noir has just the right amount of intrigue. I think the desert metaphor is a compelling one almost always. U-Turn has a great cast including, Nick Nolte, Sean Penn, Billy Bob Thornton, and Jennifer Lopez. I think it is an interesting film worth watching, though is probably not the best Oliver Stone out there.
